BUSINESS REVIEW
SUSTAINABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT - Roads

Managing Director
National Toll Roads
Kyran’s civil engineering background and experience in infrastructure development has been central to his effective leadership of National Toll Roads over the past five years.
Irish based roads concession operator, National Toll Roads, has successfully managed a period of significant change over the past twelve months arising from the hand back of the West-Link concession to the Irish National Roads Authority and the sale of the Eazypass business.
The consequent repositioning of the business and organisation has been satisfactorily achieved. The business continued the successful operation of the East-Link toll bridge in Dublin and the CRG concession on the main Dublin to Belfast M1 motorway at Drogheda/Dundalk.
Traffic volumes in the existing operations were satisfactory, taking into account the economic slowdown, with a small decrease at East-Link and an increase at the M1.
Construction of the N25 Waterford bypass (South East Ireland) and the midlands M7/M8 Portlaoise bypass PPP concessions continued on schedule, with the Waterford bypass expected to open to traffic in September / October 2009 and the Portlaoise bypass expected to open ahead of schedule in summer 2010.
Recruitment for the N25 Waterford bypass started in June 2009 and it is planned to have teams in place by early September across a number of areas including operations, maintenance and administration.
